McLean County Sheriff Prevails in Discharge Arbitration

HM client the McLean County Sheriff won a labor arbitration in which the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council alleged that the grievant was discharged without just cause after causing a car accident and then intentionally misleading investigators. The Arbitrator ruled in favor of the Sheriff and found that the grievant’s negligence and intentionally misleading statements to internal investigators and police about the circumstances of accident justified his discharge.

The McLean County Sheriff was successfully defended by Rick Stewart. A copy of the arbitrator’s decision can be found here.
