On September 16, 2013 Brent Krebs joined the firm’s Springfield office as a Senior Attorney.   Brent was formerly the general counsel of Prairie State Generating Company,  a multi-billion dollar coal fired, 1600 Megawatt electricity generation facility near Marissa, Illinois, from 2011-2013, where he was responsible for the organization’s law related to tactical requirements and strategic direction, including corporate governance, commercial transactions, and labor/employee relations.

Prior to that experience, Brent spent nearly 15 years in various roles of ascending responsibility at Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, a Fortune 750 St. Louis based life sciences and high technology company.  At Sigma-Aldrich from 1996-2011, Brent held multiple operations and human resource management positions and directed many of the company’s legal and compliance programs as Senior Corporate Counsel and Global Director of Regulatory Compliance respectively.  Prior to his extensive private sector corporate experience, Brent worked in Springfield, Illinois for the Illinois General Assembly and for Illinois Governor James Edgar, and was executive director of a Springfield, Illinois based business association.  He also has prior law firm experience.

Brent graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Louis University and earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Saint Louis University School of Law.  He is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
