William J. Clark, IV is Senior Counsel with the firm concentrating in the practice of labor and employment law and civil litigation. William has over 20 years of experience in both Missouri state courts and various federal courts across the country as well as extensive experience in ADR negotiations. William gained significant trial and administrative hearing experience while working in private practice, the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, the United States Postal Service and as the Manager of Litigation for a major St. Louis based company.

William has represented employers, in both the government and private sectors, for more than 15 years, defending employment discrimination claims brought pursuant to Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Rehabilitation Act, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. He has also handled administrative matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Merit Systems Protection Board, U.S. Department of Labor, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration and he has regularly represented clients in civil rights, employment-related and business litigation in federal and state courts throughout the country.

William has managed litigation relating to anti-trust violations, trademark and patent infringement claims, contractual disputes, and shareholder rights claims. He has also represented the State of Missouri in prisoner civil rights litigation and the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group in claims of Constitutional violations.

William’s experience also involved a significant amount of executive management counseling relating to all types of personnel and human resources issues, including employee discipline and termination, employee and executive investigations, union contractual interpretation, policy interpretation, and business strategy. William has conducted investigations pertaining to employee complaints and executive discipline.

William has provided management training to human resources personnel on a myriad of employment topics including sexual harassment and the reasonable accommodation process. William assisted in developing the process by which the U.S. Postal Service conducts the analysis of employee disability claims.
