Gil Williams is an Attorney with the Firm, joining HesseMartone with over 20 years of experience as a business owner and employer. He supports clients in a wide range of employment and labor issues with particular focus on non-competition/non-disclosure agreements, company trade secret protection, ERISA pension fund withdrawal liability and compliance with federally-mandated Affirmative Action Plans. Gil has drafted, negotiated and enforced complex state-specific employment policies and contracts, including restrictive covenants and severance agreements. He has also advised clients on employment policies and handbook provision compliance with FLSA, FMLA, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, USERRA and related state laws.

Gil graduated magna cum laude from Saint Louis University School of Law: Order of the Woolsack, seven Academic Excellence Awards, Alpha Sigma Nu, Phi Delta Phi and Dean’s Scholarship. A published contributor to the Saint Louis University Public Law Review, he was also a law review articles editor and legal research teaching assistant.

Gil also served as a judicial intern with the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Missouri.

Before going to law school, Gil started and grew a small retail company into a global company with an international supply chain that won the City of St. Louis Mayor’s Business of the Year award. Gil also previously worked with computer systems software in the aerospace and insurance industries.

Gil is a founding board member of the Mitrata-Nepal Foundation for Children, which provides medical care, educational opportunities, and a caring home for disadvantaged children.
